Getting to Halton Mill

Getting to Halton Mill

Halton Mill is in the village of Halton, three miles north east of Lancaster.

Public transport

Lancaster Railway Station is 3 miles from The Mill, with fast connections north and south – an hour to Carlisle and Manchester, 2 hours to Glasgow, 2 and a half to London.  Taxis from the station cost around £10.

There are half hourly, or hourly buses from Lancaster to Halton, Monday to Saturday, from early until 7pm. Unfortunately, due to council cuts, there are no buses on Sunday or after 7 p.m.

It’s a pleasant, easy bike ride from the Lancaster station to the Mill, along a car-free, well lit, riverside track. There are showers at the Mill.

By car

Halton Mill is just a mile from junction 34 of the M6.  We encourage people to share cars and arrange lifts where possible.

There is limited parking on site. For weekend events, we can sometimes arrange extra parking nearby.
