Friday night at The Mill we gathered to celebrate the retirement of Chris - one of our founding directors & our site manager for over a decade!

It was a lovely evening full of music, dancing, speeches and good food and drink.

Pete Moser joined us with his Sgt Peppers Lonely One Man Band, encouraging audience participation and even got Alison and Claire up dancing!

Friend and colleagues of Chris' from all over the world joined us to celebrate, with Fiona Frank sharing her memories and thanks via Zoom, all the way from Brazil.

Without Chris we wouldn't have Halton Mill as it is today and his day to day presence will be really missed!

As many said on Friday, if you ever needed Chris, more often than not he would just appear, and always be happy to help, or offer advice. If he didn't appear then you would need to go hunting from him as answering his phone was never Chris' strong point!

It was a lovely evening with Mill users - both past and present,  alongside friends and colleagues from Chris' wonderfully varied working past, joining us from all over the world (thanks Zoom!) Memories shared by those who worked with Chris, and a presentation put together by Chris' partner Kate, highlighted to everyone how much Chris really has done over the years and what an asset he is to Halton Mill.

Chris is the last of the 3 founding directors to retire, but he will be staying with us as a tenant, and will remain an active Mill director, so he's not disappearing completely!
