On foot, by bicycle, public transport or car, there are lots of ways to get to Halton Mill. We are in the perfect location close to the Lancaster cycle track, so why not cycle or walk along the river for your commute?

By bicycle or on foot

Halton Mill is accessible easily from a 3-mile ride along a flat, traffic-free, well-lit, cycle track from Lancaster / Morecambe / Caton.  
Directions: From Lancaster, join the cycle track at Sainsburys or on Caton Road/Ladies’ Walk.
About 500m after the motorway bridge you’ll come to a small road (Denny Beck Lane). Turn left and you’ll cross a narrow bridge over the river, then turn immediately right onto Mill Lane. Head to the end of the road and The Mill is at the end.

By bus

The 49 bus runs half-hourly to Halton from Lancaster Bus Station & from Carnforth.
Monday-Saturday, up to 7pm. Bus timetable  
Directions: Get off at Halton War Memorial on the mini roundabout.
Walk down Low Road & turnright just past the Greyhound pub. Turn left just before the narrow bridge, into Mill Lane. Turn right at the end, & follow Mill Lane to the end.

The 81/82 buses (the "Lune Villager" service) run hourly all week (including Sundays) between Lancaster & Kirkby Lonsdale/Skipton/Settle/Ingleton.  Bus timetable.
‍Directions: Get off at the Greyhound pub. Head down the hill at the Greyhound pub towards the river.   Turn left just before the narrow bridge, into Mill Lane. Turn right at the end, & follow Mill Lane to the end.

By car

We have 14 car parking spaces, including 1 disabled space.
If there are no parking spaces available on our site please park on Forge Lane (///plums.stem.locate).
If you do come by car, please offer lifts & share journeys with others.  
Drivers should only park in Halton Mill parking spaces, & not use Lancaster Cohousing spaces.
The grassed over parking spaces at the west end of the Mill are reserved for British Canoeing but can be used after dusk.
